Meet The Team
As a team, the Transpacific crew prides themselves on building strong relationships with industry partners and customers, and consistently providing exceptional product that is fair priced and well-documented.
After graduating, Bob went to work for Sandy Farms. He started as the assistant farm manager where he quickly proved himself and was named manager. Soon after that he entered into a stock-option agreement with the then owners and began purchasing the farm. Sandy Farms became the largest cane berry farm in the Pacific Northwest and one of the first recognized for sustainable farming practices.
Bob Underwood’s success is directly attributable to his strong background in agriculture and his ability to integrate the different vertical phases of the berry business. Creating a controlled, safe, and efficient workflow through owning the ground where the berries are grown; the plant where the berries are inspected; having the processing facilities on-site; being CEO of the marketing organization for all the sourced farms; and directly employing all the people who make it all run is something he calls “farm-to-fork”. Transpacific Food, Inc. does this better than just about anyone.
It takes more than process control and expertise to make a good leader. It takes vision to know that it is necessary to do more than just grow berries. Bob knows that customers need more sophistication when deciding what to put in their stores. He ran the farm, built the plant, built the processes, and built Transpacific Food around all of it. He found a niche in the puree business for frozen berries while growing the fresh market segment – all to service the customer better by giving them exactly what they want.
Marketing and Sales Manager
Meredith Underwood was raised on the farm. She says that the people at Transpacific Food are like a second family. Riding around on the farm with her dad in his truck and on the tractors are some of her earliest memories. Berries are practically in her blood.
She’s worked since she was 10 years old . She’s picked berries by hand, worked the sorting machines, washed berries, worked in the processing plant, in quality control and as an office assistant. She’s even managed the U-pick stand and sold Christmas trees.
After graduating college, Meredith came on full time in sales support where she continues to learn from some of the most talented and experienced professionals in the business.
